We just arrived back home and wanted to drop you both a line and let you know what a wonderful weekend we had at Loon Cabin and Rainbow Lake. We can't say enough about your hospitality and property! You made us feel so at home! Loon Cabin is such a wonderful place to stay...it's so secluded...you feel as though you're the only ones on the peninsula. It's beautiful on the inside and out! And, what a great collection of books and magazines for a rainy evening.
Yesterday we saw the otters, today we saw some loons. It was so hard leaving Wakanda today!
Again, thank you for introducing us to your beautiful paradise! We are looking forward to returning [next year].

We have had the most incredible 11 days here at Wakanda -- I hate to go back to life on the outside!
This cabin (Owl Cabin) is perfect and I urge you to sleep on the porch. It is so cozy bundled under the covers with the sounds of nature and the lake and woods around you.
We had the greatest thing happen on Saturday night September 7th -- we saw the Northern Lights! We sat out on the dock for over an hour and had a spectacular show of pink and blue shafts of light coming out of the sky.

...So many memories to take home with me. I can hardly wait until next year for more!

This cabin is reminiscent of the one my grandfather built in Attica, NY. It feels like home, I love it.
So much care has gone into making it comfortable, right down to the coffee filters. It is great.
When I found Wakanda online, nothing else compared to it.
I was looking for something rustic and really started to feel like these places just didn't exist.
Owl Cabin. That is all I am saying. Owl Cabin... I wanted quiet. I got it. We have to come back here next year for our vacation when it's warmer -- I want to experience sleeping on the porch, too!

Noel and Susan's attention and care for detail is unreal... It's the little things that make me smile.
How intentional the placement of everything is, in the cabin and outside. How right it all feels.
I have not been this inspired to take pictures in a long time.
We just came back from kayaking - my first time! No one was on the water but us. It was awesome!
Another beautiful morning to sit out on the dock by myself and listen to songbirds and chipmunks...
I know that this book is probably for a list of names of people who stayed here, but I was too compelled to write more in depth about this wonderful place.

Enjoyed the beautiful drive to the cabins. We were all impressed by the apparent isolation of them.
Upon driving up to Owl we all immediately fell for the squat little cabin to be our home for the next 3 nights.
After walking in the love affair was complete -- the interior is beautiful.
Better than the pictures showed.
We spent our first night making s'mores over a bonfire overlooking the lake. It was amazing.

I enjoyed being able to let my kids wander, not only the property on their own, but in the case of the older kids, they explored the lake by kayak and had the best time.

Believe it or not we are most impressed how little our younger kids (4 &7) didn't fight or miss TV.
This has truly been the most relaxing, beautiful and eye-opening vacation we have enjoyed.
My kids hope we will come back again next year.

We've all had a great time here... The setting us just what we've looked for and I'm sure we'll make this an annual event... I'm not sure how it will feel to refill my head with all the day in & day out things that weigh us down...
Since our arrival the circuit boards have shut down and it has felt great!

Our first day out in the canoe we saw a pair of loons with 2 young ones in tow -- what a thrill! We'd only heard them last year. This year they put on several lovely concerts for us. We were also treated with an actively fishing osprey, several blue herons, and back up in the flow sun dews in bloom! I'm sure we saw an otter, too, on our way to Clear Pond.
Our hike up St. Regis Mt. tuckered us out, so our last day here we spent relaxing in the sun and by the campfire.
Wish we had more than a week here!
